Three sample window and door sites, coded

Real HTML and CSS homepages for three fictional businesses: a window installer, a door installer and a glass repair shop. Open them on your phone. Your site is built the same way, from your own content.

What these samples are, and what they aren’t

Every business on this page is invented. The names, web addresses and wording were made up to show how a window and door company site can be laid out. None of them is a client, and none of the text is a review or a claim about real products.

We don’t show testimonials or client logos anywhere on this site because we don’t have clients to quote yet. When real client sites exist, they will be shown with their permission. Canada’s Competition Act only allows a testimonial that the person actually gave and approved for publication 3 .

What all three share, whatever the business

  • The main button starts a quote. Not “contact us”, and it is repeated where a buyer decides.
  • The products or problems come first. A buyer sees what you do before they read who you are.
  • The quote form asks trade questions. What, how many and when, as taps on a phone.
  • Nothing is claimed that the business can’t back. No invented ratings, reviews or performance values.
  • It reads well on a phone. The layout is built for a small screen first, then widened.

Window installer: products first, quote by opening

Halden Window & Door is invented. The layout is built for a homeowner replacing several windows in an older house.

On every product page

U-factor
Copied from the model's label
Energy Rating
Copied from the model's label
Frame
Vinyl, fibreglass or wood
Glazing
Double or triple, gas fill
Halden Window & Door is invented for this example. A replacement window installer: product range first, quote form sorted by opening, service areas listed by town.

Design notes

Main action
“Start my quote”, repeated in the header.
Structure
Product range row, then the quote questions, then a spec block per product.
Form
What, how many and when, as tap targets.
Label values
Shown per model only when the company supplies them from the label.

A certified model’s label lists its U-factor, Energy Rating and glazing 2 , and only models registered with NRCan can be promoted as certified 1 . The sample leaves values out rather than invent them.

Door installer: chosen by eye, booked by visit

Tallgrass Door Co. is invented. The layout puts styles, finishes and the winter install question ahead of the quote.

Entry and patio doors that close tight in January.

Steel and fibreglass entry doors, sidelites and patio doors, supplied and installed across the prairies.

Choose the slab

Steel or fibreglass, with or without glass inserts. Each style page lists the sizes and finishes we can order.

Add sidelites

One side, both sides or a transom above. We show the rough opening each option needs.

Pick hardware

Handlesets, deadbolts and smart locks, photographed on our own installs.

Installing in winter

How we swap a door in one day, keep the cold out while the opening is empty, and what we need from you before we arrive.

Tallgrass Door Co. is invented for this example. An entry and patio door installer: door styles up front, showroom visits booked online, a plain page about installing in winter.

Design notes

Main action
“Get a door quote”, with a showroom visit in the header.
Structure
Door type tabs, then the three decisions: slab, sidelites, hardware.
Objection
A plain section on installing in winter.
Tone
Warm and practical, for a product people choose partly on looks.

Glass repair shop: the problem in plain words

Cedar Sill Glass is invented. The layout answers “can this be fixed?” before it asks for anything.

Sample design, fictional business
Foggy glassBroken glassScreens

Foggy window? Often only the sealed unit needs replacing.

Send a photo of the glass and the sticker in the spacer bar. We tell you whether the unit can be replaced in your existing frame.

Add a photo of the window Send for a quote

Replace the sealed unit

  • Frame and sash are sound
  • Glass is fogged between the panes
  • Hardware still opens and locks

Replace the whole window

  • Frame is rotted, warped or cracked
  • Drafts around the frame, not only the glass
  • The window no longer opens
Photo you send it Measure we confirm size Order the new unit Install in the same frame
Cedar Sill Glass is invented for this example. A glass and sealed-unit repair shop: the problem in the homeowner's words, a photo-first quote request, and a clear repair-or-replace explainer.

Design notes

Main action
“Send for a quote” with a photo.
Structure
The problem in the homeowner’s words, then repair or replace, then four steps.
Honesty
Says when the whole window needs replacing, not only the glass.
Navigation
By problem: foggy glass, broken glass, screens.

What your own site carries instead

The structure carries over. Everything that makes it yours comes from the content checklist you send.
