Privacy policy
What we collect when you book a call or send an inquiry, why, who handles it, how long we keep it, and how to see or correct it.
Who is responsible for your information
The business behind Window Websites is named here, with its business number, province and a contact address, before launch. A privacy contact address is published with those details.
We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which applies to private-sector organizations handling personal information in commercial activity, and the substantially similar provincial laws in Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec where they apply 2 .
What we collect
- When you book a call: your name, email, phone number if you give it, business name, and the time you choose (online booking is not open yet).
- When you send an inquiry: your name, email, business name and, if you add them, your phone number and message (the inquiry form is not open yet).
- If you become a client: the business details, content, domain access and billing details needed to deliver the plan.
- Technical request data: our web host processes details of each page request, such as IP address, browser and the page asked for, to deliver pages and protect the site. We don’t use it to identify visitors.
This site runs no analytics, advertising or tracking pixels, and sets no cookies of its own.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use your details for the purpose you gave them: arranging and holding the call, answering your inquiry, and, if you become a client, delivering the plan and invoicing. You consent to that use by booking or sending the form. We don’t use your details for any other purpose without asking, and you can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits such as invoices already issued.
Storage and processing outside Canada
Your information may be stored or processed in the United States and other countries by the providers above. While there, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of those countries. We choose providers that publish their security and privacy terms, and we remain responsible for information we transfer to them for processing.
How long we keep it
- Call bookings and inquiries that don’t lead to a plan: 24 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Client records: for the length of the plan, then as long as tax and business record laws require.
- Technical request data: handled by our host under its own retention settings, which we don’t extend.
Safeguards
The site is served only over encrypted connections. Access to bookings and inquiries is limited to the people who need it to reply or deliver the plan, accounts are protected with strong authentication, and we delete what we no longer need on the schedule above.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we don’t need to keep, using the contact details above. We may ask you to confirm who you are. We reply within 30 days, and there is no charge.
Email and Canada’s anti-spam law
Canada’s anti-spam legislation requires consent before sending commercial electronic messages 1 . We send you messages about the call you booked or the inquiry you made. We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, each one identifies us and includes an unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribe requests within the time the law sets 1 .
Complaints
Please raise a privacy concern with us first, in writing, and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or, where a provincial privacy law applies, to the privacy commissioner of Alberta, British Columbia or Quebec.
